It is interesting to see how the generational tide has most recently turned. I remember back in ‘89-early 90’s when the murders occurred (and afterward) many people shunned the brothers and thought they were lying about being abused. They even accused them of using the “abuse excuse.” People thought they should spend the rest of their lives behind bars and that was that. Period. However now a younger generation, many who were not even born when these crimes were actually committed are proponents for these brothers to walk free. If it wasn’t for the Netflix drama, etc. along w/current social media trends no one would care about these guys. And now some are even calling them hot…..??! No one thought this when they were younger!!!!?
At the end of the day they murdered their parents. So, no, most of us alive at that time didn’t think they were hot or eligible in any way, shape, or form. So glad a younger generation can look past murder because they have been introduced to Milli Vanilli since they love all things from the 90s.
At the end of the day they were sexually abused by dad who was enabled by mom. They were 21 and 18 when they committed their crime. They have served 35 years with good behavior and have paid their debt to society. Many people who understand the justice system and child abuse have been working to help them way before This Netflix show. I don’t know any young people who think they are hot - they are now in advanced middle age. My teen says her peers are simply more aware of sexual abuse (Gen Z loves true crime) and just think the sentence was too long given the childhood abuse.
While true. You still don’t get to blow your mom’s face off in a rage.
+1 And then joyriding and having a good ole time with millions of unearned dollars.
