Fine even if SBG is the best new-old thing, then there needs to be consistency across the schools in the county. Why should Madison and Herndon kids suffer through SBG when the kids at McLean and Langley still get their inflated grades?
Why does the extreme left always want to drag others down to the lowest level rather than actually fixing issues?
What does this even mean?
DP - you really don't know what this means? FCPS is teaching to the lowest common denominator. It's not fair others have _____, because I wasn't born as smart or didn't have the same environment. If you have more or do better than me, it's not because of your hard work. If some kids do homework, that's not fair because others have parents that won't make them or their home life is not conducive to homework. If some kids turn in their classwork and get a grade, that's not fair because other kids may know the material but they didn't do the work, so not fair. If a kid studies for a test and gets a 4 and another gets a 2, that kid with the 2 should be given more opportunities to get a 4, because it's not fair for anyone to be stuck with the results that come from not studying/having a bad day/whatever. I wish FCPS would just give the kids with Ds and Fs a C and leave everyone else alone.
+1 although I don't think this is just an issue with the extreme left. Schools in deep red states do the same thing because they also get dinged if too many kids fail classes or drop out. The difference is that those schools, and many others not just in deep red states, have always been shitty. There are enough Fairfax residents who remember when FCPS was an excellent school system and are appalled at how far it's fallen in the past 20 years.
