So you disagree with the statement that there are good rec players who are better than players on 3rd/4th/5th travel teams?
Maybe an outlier rec player is better than some kids on a 5th team but definitely not 3rd or 4th. And by the way most travel teams are not five levels deep. Maybe Arlington and Loudoun because they are huge and the competition is super tough.
This supports the conclusion that Valor will put anyone on their teams....$$$ comes first. Anyone who plays rec for SYA or CYA, you are guaranteed a spot on a travel team for this club.
Do not waste your time with Valor and definitely not with CYA. They are the bottom of the barrel clubs in the area. Some have said that CYA uses travel players in their Rec All-stars team and even threatened to call the cops for other parents filming games. Rotten coaches for Valor and CYA. SYA should break off and join Loudoun, Herndon or GFR.
We moved here so never did local house league soccer but a coworker's ds played SYA house league last season and complained that it was over $200 and then they also had to buy multiple uniform shirts on top of that (I was shocked it cost so much! We paid $55 when our kids were younger and they got free shirts). He also said they had to go buy numbers and make the shirts themselves which didn't make any sense to me. But his biggest complaint was their team only had 1 hour practice on a soccer field with three other high school level teams and the lights were broken so they were practicing in the dark all season. Did not seem worth over $200. I would rather pay for my kids to play on the tenth club team rather then deal with that. Rec soccer with volunteer coaches should be cheap at least if that is all you getting.
They had to buy multiple shirts and then buy numbers and iron on the numbers themselves? That can't be right.
