Hi, which program is better phs ecology or phs humanities
I don't think there's a bad program at PHS...it's just what your child would like to study. At least the first two years are quite rigid across all three programs so the coursework should interest them.
Phs humanities students are called “npc” according to my child. They say they are “irrelevant”. In my opinion, instead of phs humanities it is better to load up on AP classes at home school then dealing with the rigid schedule at phs humanities. It’s not really worth it!
The reality is kids can take classes across the magnets in 11th/12th. The program with the most flexibility is the ecology program. But it also has fewer rigorous courses in 9th/10th compared to SMCS or humanities. I think there's an argument for going to PHS over most of the home schools in the Upcounty area (smaller size of school, better teachers).
