While the car theft rate has climbed in DC, so has it in San Francisco, Miami, Portland, Denver, Milwaukee, and other places. The Republican alternative of a police state is simply too frightening to contemplate.
So sick of these attempts to normalize crime. I say bring in the Republicans --lifetime Dem.
Bring in whomever will do strict, consistent enforcements. Why can’t our leadership enforce and prosecute? Why does it have to be a Republican? Are Democrats stupid? The crime will stop, if the consequences are severe enough. STOP THE CRIME IN DC. Just read the WP article of a carjacked white Mercedes who revved up to hit a young mom who was then paralyzed and spent 10 months hospitalized, and dozens of surgeries later will still suffer lifelong pain. There are videos of the hit and run. They recovered the Mercedes but did no fingerprints or collection of any evidence. There is another case I read about last year, young girl in SE DC paralyzed by gunshot, and the loser owner had been arrested on multiple gun and violence charges before, and he didn’t even call 911 for the girl nearly bleeding out. He’s free again after one year in jail. The girl remains paralyzed needing lifelong care. There are probably dozens stories like this in this city. There is NO PURSUIT OF JUSTICE in DC. I hope the perpetrators will be receive the karma they sowed, and then rot in hell.
