Mandarin is rapidly becoming the Chinese lingua franca for dialect speakers around the world. There are two-way Mandarin immersion elementary schools in cities as far flung as Vancouver, Sydney and Singapore for this reason. But I'd be really surprised if DCPS would play ball for now. We'll almost certainly have to wait until Gray and Kaya go. We'll ask but they'll tell us no money, little interest, we're closing schools, YY is enough.
