Given that Toll Brothers is a publicly traded production builder, I would expect that they would try to cut costs everywhere possible. But I don't see any specific descriptions of what this means in terms of building materials and techniques. The online reviews are the usual unhelpful mixture of 1 star and 5 star reviews, mostly relating to issues other than construction quality. Same for Tri Pointe. And the company websites are all about design, finishes, and financing, with almost nothing about the quality of the building. [/quote]
Well, no, it doesn't quite work that way. Toll Brothers is a large volume builder but does have a reputation (whatever it may be) that they try to maintain. Mercedes is a publicly traded car builder, but they're aren't trying to cut costs everywhere possible. Apple is a publicly traded electronics builder, but they aren't trying to cut costs everywhere possible. [/quote]
