I keep seeing this claim made but there are decades of research studies on this topic and many show that SAT scores are a very strong predictor of not only college grades but future career success as well. [/quote]

caltech is extremely not diverse, and they are trying to make it diverse, which is why they got rid of SAT scores. They knew if they kept SAT scores, the schools would continue to be not diverse.  MIT is more diverse than Caltech. It could be due to location -- CA has more Asians than MA, and CA of course is huge.

Also, Caltech is minuscule compared to MIT.
