Yup it is, oh and the Post had an update today about the 12 year old who had previously been arrested on 9 carjackings, robberies, etc. He had for some reason been placed in a shelter house and not held at the juvie detention center and wait for it….he fled the insecure shelter and is at large. Yay DC and progressive criminal justice policies! [/quote]

You can’t ethically just throw a 12 yo into prison. Get real. That kid needs help and not just empty punishment. 12![/quote]

+1.  He needs to be held.  In a secure place.  Where he can't hurt anyone else.  Releasing him to the parenting that led to this behavior, or trusting him to remain where he's supposed to be at an unsecure facility, are idiotic.  You can offer the discipline and education at the secure facility.  He's not getting it at home and he's almost certainly not actually voluntarily going to school.[/quote]
