Conservative, like old school Reagan type? Or a "Conservative" as in current GOP politics? I can tell you after 20 years of marriage to a man who was a Conservative when we married (I'm a middle of the road Dem, not a Progressive and a Joe Manchin-type probably represents my ideals best), but has since gulped the Fox News kool-aid and is now an election denier, thinks Jan. 6 was no big deal, Tucker Carlson is right about everything, it can be a nightmare. I can not discuss anything political with him because he's grown so extreme.
I’ve read a lot of this thread, and I honestly can’t argue ideology and don’t much care, but the above has been my exact experience. Maybe it will be better for you, OP, since you know what topics to avoid, but I feel like there are land mines that might explode at any point in my marriage. I thought it would be better after it came out that FOX news basically made up the election denial stuff in order to increase ratings, but it just made other landmines. I’m guessing that FOX is saying that other news outlets basically lied about other events (Jan 6th being one) the way that Fox did with the election.
