Solution: raise better children. You all are here looking for someone to blame. I’m not saying blame yourself yet, but this all starts at home. Look. In. The. Mirror. Find actionable salutations bc you know your kids better than anyone else.
How does that apply here? I can’t raise someone else’s child. Yet, other kids are keeping my kid out of the bathroom. Your post is nonsense. Maybe you are in the wrong thread?
+1 my kids don't vape. They've been offered and turned it down. I can't control what other kids do. Plus, some parents are vaping, right in front of the kids. Neither MCPS nor the other parents can control that. We need accountability from the BOE/MCPS on how they plan on reducing the vaping in bathrooms, and sending out a strongly worded email ain't gonna cut it. We have security guards now. I stated up thread, those security guards don't do much. I honestly think they are just getting a paycheck. They have no authority to arrest someone, and MCPS isn't going to want those kids arrested because it will look badly on the school and because of equity reasons. Parents shouldn't be the hall monitors; I can't imagine any HS kid wanting their mommy or daddy in the bathrooms monitoring vaping. Teachers need to teach not be security guards. Locking the bathroom doors only punishes the rest of the kids. Propping doors open won't stop it because the kids just blow the vape inside their shirts - per my DC. So, what does that leave us with? SROs in schools walking the hallways.
