Did they catch someone with a gun last week at RM? There was a thread here.
yes on the 24th. 15yom but he was off the grounds when the Police found him..
They discussed the events at the RM PTA. I am actually pretty satisfied with their communication, at least. The boy was let in by another RM student Security saw it happening through the security camera (apparently RM has a ton of security cameras, as I'm sure a lot of schools do). Security met the boy and escorted him off campus with no issues. While security was escorting him, they noticed something suspicious in his bag - that part is vague, like how did they figure that out? Security called the CEO who called for RPD Security watched the boy walk away and was able to tell CEO/RPD where the boy was headed RPD got him within a few minutes with no issues. The boy was arrested and sent to a juvey facility. The legal system will take it from there.
This is interesting. Why can't Security simply call the Rockville Police Department. Why this extra step? As an RM parent, I want the police on scene as quickly as possible. This kid seemed to just walk away, but if he was uncooperative, the quicker the police get there the better.
Agree, which is why SROs in school is better. They have a direct line to the police. Security guards do not. The RPD during the call stated exactly that.. that police will respond quicker when contacted through radio by another cop than security guard calling the CEO, then CEO contacting police.
