I'm sure Dana Gould thinks he's smart and witty, but he's missing the point. Rush Limbaugh isn't talked about much anymore because it was never just about Rush Limbaugh; it was about what lurked behind him and what he channeled through his daily broadcasts: the ethno-centric nationalist movement of the far right.

Rush Limbaugh was a mouthpiece. He's dead, but the movement most certainly isn't, and it has found new mouthpieces to carry on.

The same thing is happening in the political arena. Donald Trump has also been a mouthpiece for the ethno-centric nationalist movement. He effectively channeled the movement's power to feed not only his own narcissism, but also his rise to political prominence. Yet, the movement remains much larger than Trump the man. Once Trump inevitably fades, others like Ron DeSantis will fill the void. Trump will not be forgotten per se, but he will fade into greater obscurity.[/quote]
