What is especially interesting is this report (see link below) from two witnesses one of whom said that the police department blew her off when she tried to give a more detailed report.  She reports seeing Zimmerman straddled atop Martin after the shooting.  Her view is that that suggests that Zimmerman did not shoot in self-defense.  I don't know if we can be sure of that but certainly if I shot someone in self-defense I would not be sitting on top of him, I would be trying to get away.

I think it would help to know where the bullet entered Martin's body and if it was shot at close range.  And of course Zimmerman needs to be thoroughly interrogated as well as all of the witnesses should be reinterviewed.  Unfortunately, thanks to police ineptitude we won't know as much as we could about what happened.
