They got him another job, got him an Uber to take him there, etc.  I recently read a novel by a woman who had apparently never worked, just travelled around taking painting classes, etc.  It's kind of like they're not even human in the same way that the rest of us are.

Comparison is the thief of joy.  Being content and seeing the good in life can be very freeing.
