First, black men are [u]arrested[/u] for half the violent crimes in this country. White men are not as often arrested for the same infractions. So you're not comparing apples to apples.

70% of black children are born to single mothers, which has stayed about the same for decades. Over 50% of Hispanic children and over 30% of white children are also born to single mothers. And over 40% of children overall are born in poverty. But it is [b]white men[/b] voting for candidates who oppose any social supports to help those children, and it is [b]white men[/b] voting for candidates who oppose better access to birth control and abortion, so yes, they are a problem.

And before you reply "why should white men vote to pay for programs to pay for kids that aren't theirs," it's -- AGAIN -- because white men controlled the levers of power forever and didn't create a system where fathers either could be or would be responsible for paying for their kids. If the dads are in jail, they can't make child support payments. If the dads don't have jobs because the schools suck, they can't make child support payments. If the dads could make child support payments but don't because there are no laws to establish paternity and enforcement mechanisms to collect and remit support and deter men from fathering additional children they can't afford, they won't make child support payments.

And if the moms couldn't avoid pregnancy because they are normal adults who have sex but missed their birth control because there is no access because of affirmative state laws that shut down Planned Parenthood clinics, that's on policymakers. That's a choice you made. Telling grown-ups to not have sex is not public policy. [/quote]
