You should get a real estate agent if you don't already have one, who will be able to help guide you through this. Most everything in the model will be upgraded--take a look at the "included" features list to get a sense of the base package and then ask to see pictures/samples of the base options. You can look at the structural options online.

For "design" features, you'll upgrade based on levels. For example, there will probably be 3-4 options for the "base" granite in the kitchen. At level two, you'll get more color options as well as perhaps a silestone or quartz option. The higher up you go, the more options/expensive materials you can select from. Same deal for floors and cabinets, etc.

Many models include upgrades that are essentially custom options that aren’t offered. Some people certainly just ask for the same design as the model kitchen, which will be nearly top of the line in most cases. [/quote]
