In a state that is deep red.[/quote] You'd think that Mississippi's substantial black population would come into play at some point. Without doing any research, it seems like it's pretty standard for Democrats to get something like 90% of the black vote. Black people make up 37% of the population. 90% of 37% would mean the Democrat have 33% of the total vote. They'd need 30% of the remainder to hit 51% of the vote. Of course that doesn't take into account voter suppression and the like. [/quote]
