That post is ridiculous. Rules for boundaries have to apply to every school.  No schools are exempt, not Madison, not McLean,  not Langley, Marshall Springfield Oakton West Potomac Lee Mount Vernon everyone under the same rules. [/quote]

FCPS does school wide Title 1 at 45%.  It could do targeted groups only if dispersed.  Consider the pre school initiative which is multiple years of 300% when grants are for 250%.  If FCPS expands FCPS site pre school why have families at 250% or 300% poverty or less use different elementary school sites?

There are regulations or policies defining when a boundary change should occur to utilize existing capacity at adjacent or nearby sites.  It's all subjective and political.  This board is the worst on that with even building any Oakton area elementary school and the West Potomac addition.  Even the board of supervisors recognize that and have stated the fact.  West Potomac nd Mount Vernon are immune- might as well be the City of Alexandria or Falls Church.[/quote]
