Traveling from Loudoun County to play a team in a north Baltimore suburb is a trek or traveling from Frederick County to play in St Marys or Stafford is a trek. I know B teams traveling 2+ hours one way to PA for games. BTW, NCSL is basically a glorified classic/select lead and there have been cases where teams in SoMD traveled to WV for games. Thank you for making my point - NCSL is barely a notch ahead of classic and not worth the travel. Lower-level EDP is slightly more competitive. Just an example for you. https://www.edpsoccer.com/page/show/4377891-2018-fall-schedules
I am not sure who you think made your point? I said in six years of little kid soccer we average 20 minutes of travel for away games. NCSL seems to make a point of having younger kids stay pretty local--something every family I knows appreciates. As for NCSL being comparable to classic.. I feel silly taking the bait here. NCSL is huge. The top couple of divisions are totally competitive with CCL I and II. My kids play CCL teams in tournaments and futsal and the level is very similar. Sometimes we win sometimes we lose.
