Nat turner was a complicated figure, but it hardly seems appropriate to name a school for someone who was responsible for the deaths of 17 children aged ten and younger.
Somebody is trying to make a really stupid point. It’s not a sincere suggestion.
Nothing stupid about naming a school after Nat Turner. Turner was a courageous freedom fighter. One of those children you are speaking of owned and enslaved Turner. Turner did nothing to deserve being anyone’s slave and the people who died were casualties of war for freedom. Harry S Truman killed over 200,000 innocent people when he bombed Hiroshima and look how schools are named after him. Nat Turner was a great man who fought for justice. Nat Turner High School is by far the best name I’ve hear in this forum.
See? Not a sincere suggestion. And undoubtedly being given by a salty white dude.
Why don’t we just name it White Supremacy High. That’s all it’s going to be anyways.
That’s what it already is.
No, that's Yorktown
Sorry your school of choice didn’t get a pass in Arlington’s favorite game- “who can we accuse of racism next?”
http://m.connectionnewspapers.com/news/2017/feb/22/night-remember-arlington/?templates=mobile
