But lots of people are - which is the whole reason for some people's attraction to these schools. Not everybody's, but definitely some people's. And hey, it doesn't just happen in Bethesda and Potomac - I live in the Siberian Hinterlands and have heard ridiculous assertions IN REAL LIFE about Quince Orchard (great school!) vs. Northwest (OMG gangs!!!1!!).[/quote]

Yep. We are districted to QO and I had a neighbor tell me, "It's a good thing we're not districted to Gaithersburg HS. Eek!" [/quote]

And kids do hard drugs, drink and make racist remarks at Churchill, Whitman and WJ. It is concerning that everyone tries to gloss over this and act like every other school is somehow worse. [/quote]

Old news - there are multiple posts going back years that cover drug abuse and rampant racism at the W's.[/quote]
