During the Reed School process, did the School Board ever mention it thought there would be excess capacity in the area and it would consider addressing that by moving an option program to another neighborhood school in the area? And word is getting out that the preferred option for Reed is now over budget. What happens if the School Board needs to builder a smaller school on that site for budget reasons? Oh, and it does that after it votes to make Tuckahoe an option school? Could easily see that happening and then these N Arlington schools fighting each other will ALL be overcrowded.
Please stop trying to stir up drama with ignorant speculation. Six designs for the Reed school have been proposed, they all have different budgets but they all provide 725 seats. The SB is not going to build a smaller school on the Reed site, they may just have to choose a less-expensive design for those 725 seats.
Ignorant speculation of what? That APS can mess up a building process? That things might change?
Ignorant speculation that they're going to reduce the size of Reed even though there's no such proposal on the table, and that the SB will make a decision on choice school locations before they make a decision on the Reed design (which is scheduled to happen a couple of months before the choice school location determination). You have zero foundation for either assertion, you're just trying to get people stirred up and infighting for your own entertainment.
You are obviously from the area around Reed. Must have been nice to have all that support from Tuckahoe when YOU wanted a neighborhood school. And yes, many of those folks who will be left at Tuckahoe were vocal in supporting a neighborhoodschool in Westover. But now that folks have Tuckahoe on the chopping block, where is the support for Tuckahoe? Why didn’t that civic association letter also support Tuckahoe remaining a neighborhood school? I don’t know what is worse: All the Nottingham people throwing Tuckahoe under the bus or the people who think they are going to Reed looking the other way while it gets hit.
