https://www.usmagazine.com/entertainment/news/golden-bachelor-gerry-turners-revelations-about-theresa-nist-in-book/ He comes across as such a mean, self-centered, and shallow guy. He's also not very bright, made it totally clear he dumped Leslie because of her finances and went with Theresa because he thought she was flush (though he obviously didn't love her). He just gives giant ick.
Well the funny thing is that they both totally misrepresented themselves to each other. Whatever money he had came from his wife's decades of hard work, her social security, and probably a life insurance policy. He was underemployed or unemployed for much of their marriage. Theresa thought he was a successful, sophisticated guy. Well, the joke was on her. And on him, since he assumed she was some kind of financial impresario when she went to work not all that long ago because her family needed health insurance. Her husband had been ill for a long time and does not seem to have been very financially successful. We know from his ex GF's account he is tight with money, and did not want to support Theresa yet was outraged she was relucant to quit her job in light of this. It's hard to see how he comes across well in any of this.
Theresa was a sheltered suburban mom who married very young. She bought into a fairy tale and was sadly disappointed when she realized he wasn't even a nice guy behind the facade. She seems unwilling to spill the tea but did allude to his having said many hurtful things to her. I believe it, and suspect that's why he initially slept on the couch.
