Sadly, I think it’s a combo of evil and just poor communication/leadership. Maybe someone just decided not to tell those directing the troops about the cease fire combined with at least someone tried but couldn’t - bad equipment, didn’t know who to tell or where to find them.

No. Russia has done this in prior conflicts. They want to terrorize into submission.

When I hear the Russian threats, they sound desperate. It doesn’t sound like they come from strength.

Apparently, a Russian parliament member Narusova stated 96 Russians out of 100 died in a platoon. Her husband was a mentor of Putin.

She spoke out against the war. Putin poisoned her husband long ago so we will see if he kills her, too. I am not sure if the following is true but it seems like she had an autopsy done of her husband and said she keeps the results safely out of Russia. Her adult daughter has already fled.
