The conversation admittedly veered to this.  There should be a wide "separation between the MLS Academies and P2P Grassroots."  DCUA is a professional academy.  The players are handpicked and [sort of] get training for free.  The fact that it's even a question as to whether a top player should choose to go to a local club or a professional academy is embarrassing.  Or should be.  The prior pages and pages of this thread were comparing DCU to other professional academies.  The fact is, it does not compare well.  [/quote]

There are about 29 academies in the entire country and you're saying people shouldn't go to dc because its not the 'best'?

All the other academies are the best?

Do parents not go to academies in South America and Europe because some guy on IG or a forum say they're not the best?

Can everyone get into the best academy?

Does the so-called best MLS academies in America produce a high percentage of professionals? 
NO, they don't

You have less than 1% chance of a  substantial professional soccer career going to any academy in America

It ain't much better in Europe either, or else we wouldn't be flooded with European Academy ex-players in US College Soccer
