You don’t have a good grasp on the situation. Zelensky is not naive, he knew full well NATO was not going in and the chances of Ukraine going NATO were slim. The rhetoric about Ukraine joining NATO has been a way to assert Ukraine’s independence. The Ukrainians don’t want to be under Russia’s thumb, they don’t want a dictator rule them and the oligarchs ravage them. There are many issues which countries in transition like Ukraine, but through multiple revolutions and now fighting to the death they have made it very clear what they want. Vlad wants to force the issue in this brutal manner. [/quote]
