Aside from the goalkeeper, no players from VRSC have moved up to their affiliated UPSL team—a league that’s m more as a competitive adult amateur league (and shown on YouTube) than a stepping stone to pro soccer. Meanwhile, clubs like Loudoun United FC operate in the fully professional USL Championship, with a far more “standard.” Of course this is what, their third change in front office? It’s unlikely they would consider signing players from VRSC under the current structure—there simply isn’t the talent pipeline or development infrastructure in place.

Without addressing issues, egos, non-alignment, a merger risks becoming just another name in an already crowded DMV soccer scene.
