The players have been frustrated for years about the problems with Segra Field and ownership’s unwillingness or inability to invest in facilities and players. Many knew for months that VRSC was taking over—“worst kept secret”—which made post-merger conversations awkward since they weren’t new for some. VRSC is clearly taking on some risk with this move, but LU players are hopeful it means changes are finally coming. Easier to make the investments now with the team doing well. [/quote]
