So, if you want change, vote mcmenamin. I went to some campaign event he held. He supports affordable housing, but not at the expense of schools and economic development. He may give vilstadt an ally on the board once those two idiots are off thE board. Cristol is just another Mary Hynes. Dorsey has some sense to him, so may be good too. As a lifelong democrat I find our party's management of this county appalling.
What about Clement?
I don't trust Clement. She runs every year and tries to re-invent herself to get elected. I suspect she will say whatever now to get the votes but won't follow through-- remember, she is close buddies with Chris Zimmerman (aka the man who pushed the streetcar while making $ consulting to the streetcar companies on the side). I'm a dem but voting for McMeniman and Dorsey. I don't trust Cristol either-- she lobbies for charter schools and has no kids of her own. Frankly, I just worry that she is too out of touch to be able to address the school overcrowding issues. On the plus side, it takes Arlington FOREVER to do anything, so chances are the AH proposal will be dead before it is ever implemented (along with the aquatics center, streetcar, etc.). Unfortunately, this also means that it make take FOREVER to also fix the school issue!
