But the usual course with these mixed use developments is that the investor group wants to lease to chains and similar deep pocketed businesses.[/quote] The problem IIUC is that the lenders want financially safe businesses of commercial tenants. That said quite few new mixed use developments end up with either established local chains, or sometimes upscale independents as tenants. Quirky really needs old buildings though. So you need to wait for these buildings to age. [/quote]
