With a single payer option, you have efficiencies of scale and can eliminate all that overlapping administration Doctors are overpaid due to the capitalistic nature of our health care system. There's always the incentive to negotiate higher. Similarly, insurers are incentivized to charge more in order to return profits to shareholders. Doctors in other countries are paid much less than our doctors. But that's OK, because they go to school for free. In other words, health care costs are out of control due to the profit-seeking motives of the healthcare industry in America. I posture that the structure of the American system contributes to much high costs than fat Americans.[/quote]
