Daryl first Michonne second Carol third Glenn 4th Maggie 5th That would be a badass team.
As much as I love all of those characters (especially Caryl and Michonne), I think Rick/Tyreese/Beth type people are important, too. Daryl, Michonne and the rest are good at sheer survival, even Carol. But I agree with Hershel that at some point you have to have some vision of what you are surviving for. I think Rick, Tyreese and Beth get that. In fact, I think that Carol realized by hanging out with Tyreese that there was something wrong in how she went about the Karen/David thing. In this latest episode, she didn't just take it upon herself to kill Lizzie right then and there or do it behind Tyreese's back. She actually discussed it with him, and they arrived at the conclusion together. I think that is why she told Tyreese about Karen: She realized that at some point, if you want to live in a group, as a family, there are things that are more important than just survival. I think Daryl, Michonne and even Carol all have a lot of trouble with relationships, with trust, with community. It is through time spent with other characters, Rick, Tyreese, Beth, Hershel, that their characters develop beyond simply survivalists. I think Carol even learned a little of that from Mika. That said, I really liked the last two episodes, even though there.. were some plot holes. [b]The plot holes: In the Daryl/Beth episode, I think that it was a stretch that Daryl would change so much so fast as to put aside good judgment and stay at a house that was clearly occupied by someone. He is also too smart to not suspect something up with the dog the first time around. In this last episode, even if Carol/Tyreese were convinced Lizzie was okay, I can't imagine they'd go and leave two kids and a baby alone in an unsecured location. It was out of character. It would have been more reasonable that if they split,[b] they would split by having one of the adults take one of the kids. But I guess the writers had to come up with a way to have Lizzie alone with her sister.
I thought the same thing! Daryl would never just open a door. And who, in this world, leaves 3 little kids alone for nothing more than a walk? That said, now that we are exploring the dark side of human nature, I think Beth is either a sex slave or being eaten.
