Anyway, I wore these all over Barcelona. They are made of leather and have the look of a classic sandal, but the footbed is actually molded, making them more supportive than a flat sandal and very comfortable for walking. They are pricey, but the quality is there to match and they can take a beating.

Maybe I’m conditioned to walking longer distances in non-orthopedic footwear from living in NYC, but as long as shoes don’t give me blisters I can manage them in most settings.

These are common in many other parts of the world. Standard footwear in India, for example. Called "chappals".
