OP has invited these people to stay at her house.  She is suggesting donuts precisely because she doesn't want them going in her kitchen and cooking.  It's a totally reasonable move, but it's not a selfless gesture.

OP has clarified that they are flying into town, presumably for thanksgiving and that the plan is that they will follow OP in a rental car to the destination that they don’t know how to get to, so pulling off the highway for an why McMuffin isn’t an option.  [/quote]
