I’m not convinced meat and butter are that bad for the health. Commonly eaten 50 years ago when there was less disease? I think most of the heart issues seen back then were due to smoking not necessarily saturated fat.

There was not necessarily less disease but less diagnosis. You think medical assessment and diagnostics were the same 50 years ago? Don't confuse increased diagnosis with increased disease.  The assessment here is complicated. Also, if you died earlier in your 50s or 60s, then sure you wouldn't count in the chronic disease metric. [/quote]

The rise in global obesity is directly linked to increased pesticide use. I love how everyone blames individuals for all our ills instead of looking to our government and corporations screwing us over for profit. Look at the farm lobby, the pesticide lobby, the health lobby, then tell us how much power individuals have.[/quote]
