I've swapped an aisle seat for an aisle seat so that a young child wouldn't be separated from their parent. However, I need an aisle seat because I use the restroom more often now that I am older and usually pay more.
I refused a change last week when a woman and her ?nine year old were upgraded to first class at the last minute and wanted me to take a window seat that didn't recline (last row of first), instead of my aisle seat that did. The FA handled it really well, and asked two different people to swap to make it work, but they both ended up better off. I did feel a little guilty though. It just made me uncomfortable for the entire flight and I kind of resented being put in that position.
