I am starting to reconsider this in the era of Trump.  I wonder whether progressive and other non-MAGA people like me should arm themselves. The January Sixers are scary and they seem to be growing bolder. Vigilante Trump supporters are on the rise.  And can we be sure that the local police and U.S. military are going to stay more or less reasonable, and won't become a domestic army or SS for the MAGA movement? (I've been a supporter of the Black Lives Matter movement but I'm not a supporter of the  "defund the police" movement and I believe most cops are good cops most of the time.)

All the crazy news about lawlessness by Trump and some of his supporters have me asking myself whether progressives and other non-MAGAs should arm themselves. Maybe it's stupid not to own a gun.
