So, I have ADHD and am menopausal and I do forget words all the time.  And they are usually the most stupid words, like "table" or something I use all the time.   And, honestly, it happens more when I am switching between languages -- I speak three languages (although I now rarely use the two that aren't English) and I do sometimes get stuck where all I can think of is the word in the language I use the LEAST.  But I have never once pretended it's because I grew up in that country!  
I have a friend from ES, HS and college that I lost track of after college, but she was constantly reinventing herself as a totally new person, and every time she did she would just dump everything about her personality from before, and just utterly commit to her new self like it had always been there.  Hilaria reminds me of that.  And honestly, it was so weird with my friend, because before she was about 16 or 17, she was the most normal person you could imagine.  I saw her at a reunion and she seemed to be doing well, but its so hard to tell.  I don't think she ever married or had kids.[/quote]

Sure, everyone forgets a word now and then. What Hilaria seems to be missing is that forgetting the word is not what was controversial.
