"Alec and Hilaria Baldwin mistakenly believed they could use a reality television show to rehabilitate their public image, which has been marred by repeated controversy. How spectacularly wrong they were." https://collider.com/the-baldwins-alec-hilaria-baldwin-children/
IMO this is the real reason for the show. It wasn't that they wanted to make a ton of $ from the reality show- they thought the show would make them become more sympathetic and therefore turn into more projects (acting, promotional, etc). I've watched a few episodes. Straight up, these people are not relatable. At all. Hilaria acts like a teen mom and looks like she's fueled by Adderall and vapes. Alec seems like he is masking a deep depression. The kids just make me feel bad and uncomfortable because of how they are being raised. It's hard to watch on many levels, and I couldn't keep going with it. It was also hard to watch the self pity over the shooting. No, its not Alec's fault. But he could have checked the chamber and someone would still have their mom, their daughter, their wife. They completely lack empathy and self awareness about how this must look to the family of the dead cinematographer.
100% this. They think they are admirable but it's just a train wreck. No one is watching this and thinking, wow I love their parenting or gosh I'd love to have dinner with them.
Right. But this was their goal. It’s embarrassing! Alec is actually smart. But he has become… this! It’s sort of grotesque. He’s a feeble, old man being led around by his cock by an inflata-lady who is pretending to be Latina while performing parenthood in front of a live studio audience of actual children. It’s a train wreck I can’t stop watching.
