This is another place where I think it's about who deserves empathy. American citizens are struggling. It's not clear to me why my local mechanic has a lifelong obligation to send money to the people of Sudan, simply because he's American. We've sent a ton of money to these countries over the years, and nothing changes. They don't improve. Maybe our money isn't the answer for them. But, it is often the answer for the working households earning the money. [/quote]
