Because he just wants loyalists. He needs someone at the top who will help him purge the ones with ethics, professionalism, and loyalty to the constitution. This is how democracy dies, and fascism replaces it. [/quote]

To some extent political appointees are loyalists. The problem with Trump's is that they will likely not uphold constitutional norms when push comes to shove. The ones who did that in his first administration left/were fired/came out against him. Trump wants loyalist to HIMSELF, not the country or their duty.[/quote]
