You are weird OP, just like your strange, senile, rambling leader. Trump is just pathetic and weird and you have no interest in discussing policy. Sad
It is a 100% real question. So far no one has able to list what freedoms he is stripping away, and then subsequently backing it up. Can you do that? Or are you calling troll because you can’t?
+1 I love how, when called out on their lies, they splutter and lie some more. Not a huge fan of Trump, but there are no rights he's taking away from anyone. How ludicrous, but I guess this is all the left has to try and convince their low-information voters.
Many women no longer have the right to healthcare. That's all on Trump. You can yakety yak all you like, but we here all know the truth.
Many women no longer have the right to healthcare???? So many women can no longer see doctors, get prescriptions filled, have medical tests and treatments, be admitted to hospitals??? How did I miss that?
Right?!? I somehow missed that too. Was it on CNN? The NYT? WSJ? Apple News? Anyone cover this breaking story?
Plenty of stories about pregnant women bleeding out, going septic and almost dying because of Trump, sicko. Trump did that.
Holy hell the Supreme Court did that.
+100 Abortion is a state issue not a federal one. What exactly do you think Trump is going to do if reelected? It is up to the states now which is where it should have been in the first place.
Slavery is a state issue, too, AMIRITE?
Maybe you’ve never been to the doctor before but most healthcare is state run and abortion is a healthcare issue therefore a federal abortion ban isn’t even possibly as healthcare is state run and all the blue states obviously wouldn’t allow it. The so called blue wave that happened in 2022 in red states means women already voted on the abortion issue and chose their preferred state representatives and therefore this election won’t be a referendum on abortion like Kamala and her supporters delusionally believe. Kamala can’t do anything if the Supreme Court remains red. She will need to nominate and make sure 2 judges are confirmed. Liberals need to lay the blame at RBG for not resigning and Obama for not pushing Merrick by using the bully pulpit and social media to bash Republicans (even Trump does this well). Obama didn’t Adt like he was the boss in Washington but like Republicans were his manager. All Trump did was his due diligence as a President and to his voters by selecting two conservative pro-life judges. He did what he said and what he promised as a thank you to his voters even though he obviously doesn’t personally agree.
Abortion will be a huge driver for women and the youth to the polls. It's delusional and cope to think otherwise. That's why Trump is currently hiding from the issue.
Once again he has said the same thing in recent interviews including the debate with Biden it is now up to the STATES!! Seriously what do you not understand? Trump has said it is where it should have always been.....the states and for the people to decide. If Trump gets reelected nothing will change on this. If Kamala gets elected nothing will change on this. Get it? The Democrats love to dangle this issue like a carrot for women. Meanwhile we have a Democratic President in office now. Why isn't he doing anything if you think this is a federal issue?
Why do you think this is a states issue? Are there examples of other medical treatments being outlawed in one state vs. another?
I can see how a trusting and optimistic voter might have looked at the Dobbs decision and concluded it would now be a states issues. Except the right wing immediately— immediately— started trying to put together a national ban. In September of 2022 they were rolling out a 15 week national ban. They have showed us what they want and we would be foolish to believe that changed.
Because the Dobbs decision didn’t leave the issue up to the states, it left it up to “the people and their representatives” which includes Congress.
I totally agree. I just mean the bad faith “OMG ITS A STATES ISSUE” posters need to explain why the republicans tripped over themselves to try to pass a federal ban in 2022 if this was understood to be a states issue.
It’s no secret to anyone that Roe was the best thing to ever happen to Republican fundraising. A national abortion ban has been their North Star goal, and chief wedge issue, for nearly 50 years, medical science and the views of women notwithstanding. Dobbs was absolutely a victory for them regardless of whether it achieved the goal. Relevant to this thread, though, the president can do very little to take it the rest of the way; as noted, this is up to Congress, SCOTUS, and voters. So all of this bickering doesn’t answer the question: what rights might Donald Trump personally be able to and likely to remove? Conversely, what rights might Kamala Harris personally be able to and likely to restore? Not abortion, obviously.
It's untrue that Trump can't and won't do immediate damage to abortion rights. He can ban mifepristone from being shipped via the Comstock Act with a stroke of a pen. He can also declare IUDs and birth control pills as abortifacients, and ban those as well.
DP. Except that’s exactly the opposite of what his platform states. Nice try. https://s3.documentcloud.org/documents/24795052/2024-gop-platform-july-7-final.pdf
Trump is a serial liar. It just doesn't matter what his platform says. It really doesn't.
So you’re going to just keep claiming he’s stripping all Americans of their rights because no one can ever prove otherwise? Despite things he’s said and news articles and his platform itself? I mean just be honest. Say “I hate him so I’m not voting for him.” Stop trotting out all these other baseless claims (and yes they are baseless - just because you don’t trust him is not actual proof).
Yes, I'm going to continue claiming his posted platform is a pack of lies because that's who is has proven to be.
I mean you can continue to do that, but it doesn’t make you look too good if when confronted with contrary evidence to your claim you just keep saying “he’s lying.” Once again, this is your opinion, not fact.
You won’t say why his platform is supposed to be more “truthful” than anything else he has said on abortion, or his VP says. That’s fact.
It’s the most current information we have to go on. What more do you want?
Exactly what I asked for— why the “most current” version of his position on the issue should be considered more truthful than the statements he made as President (20 week ban) or in March of this year (15 week ban). If his thinking has changed and he suddenly supports women’s rights he hasn’t said so. All we can conclude is he is lying in at least two of the above instances.
So it’s either what’s stated on his campaign website as of today, or your stalwart belief that he’s lying. I know which one I’m going with.
Sounds good, go with it. Trump needs marks like you to have a chance.
“Marks”? No one is as elite and educated as you, I get it. Anyone who disagrees with you must be an idiot. There’s no possible other explanation.
Anybody that trusts anything out of Trump's mouth is an idiot, yes.
