Was there really a depiction of the Last Supper by transexuals, homosexuals and kids? I really hope that is not true. If so, what the f$ck?
Chill. No one us taking away your right to practice your religion. Don’t question their right to practice their art.
If a holy moment of Islam were portrayed by a bunch of drag queens on the world stage, I’m quite confident you nor anyone else would be defending it as art. I’d also bet good money the response would be violent. Not everything needs our attention. I think this is all vulgar and dumb but art has always struck more conservative people as vulgar and dumb. That’s the purpose of art- to make you think and feel things. The last thing modern Christianity needs is violence and hysteria. Isn’t it enough that our brethren are working to create a theocracy?
Thank you! It's an artistic take on a piece of art. A painting. People seriously need to chill. Does anyone truly believe that Jesus himself be offended by being depicted as a fat woman? If so, please report yourself to Matthew 25.
To be fair to the French, shock and irreverence to religion and sex are their shtick and god knows they’ve pissed off the Muslims with it historically too.. But to claim this Olympics is all about peace and pausing conflict and then pretty gleefully attempt to offend many participants’ religions is pretty disingenuous. I was at their 98 World Cup opening ceremonies - just a teen backpacker who got lucky enough to get tickets- and it was much more spectacle, fantastical, and whimsy and not at all political or controversial. Guess I’m getting old…
