Most rec coaches are just glorified babysitters that are trying to make sure his DC has friends to play with. There are some decent rec players but they can’t hold a candle to any mid level travel player. And I guarantee any rec player whose dad is coaching is not even average. [/quote]

That's a bold outright lie of a statement. The majority of the FCPS high school soccer teams are almost entirely made up of ECNL National and ECNL Regional players. Parents like you start to scramble to see what (if any) high school sport your kid can play. Inevitably, the rec players all go to field hockey and then get cut after their freshman year.[/quote]

No one. PP said there were a few rec players on their FCPS HS team, and they beat out at least a few low level travel players for spots.
