This is not something new in the world of high school sports. Some schools do it, some don't - some do it just for certain sports. Sidwell does it for tennis and basketball. Other schools do it for lacrosse, or whatever....  It's life. If you don't like it, choose a school that doesn't have sports teams or one that doesn't recruit for sports.

Sidwell dominating other DMV schools in girls tennis? Check (ISL champions for FOUR straight years, and ranked #2 in the nation).

Sidwell dominating other DMV schools in basketball? Check 
Boys: 
1. BACK TO BACK (2022 and 2023) DCSAA Champions, and their third championship title in the past four seasons; and 
2. National titles, including the State Champions Invitational; and 
3. At least TWO current NBA players.

Girls: 
1. BACK TO BACK (2022 and 2023) DCSAA Champions;
2. National titles, including the State Champions Invitational; and 
3. Recent players who have won:
Gatorade National Player of the Year (2022), 
McDonald’s All-American Player, including MVP (2022 and 2023).

The two NBA players actually lost while at Sidwell to pretty mediocre STA teams.

1. That game only mattered to Visi (Go Visi…I guess). Visi won one game against Sidwell that season. Sidwell won the state CHAMPIONSHIP later that season.

Sidwell lost, to Visi and to STA.  Sad for the Sidwell powerhouse that with future pros and top college recruits they could not beat teams with a bunch of D-3 players at best.  Sounds like the kids who advanced did so in spite of Sidwell not because of it.  [/quote]

Based on DCUM comments, I don’t think there’s a school in the DMV that has more committed and vocal critics than Sidwell.

All of this vitriol reminds me of the following quote:

Sidwell continues to succeed anyway.[/quote]
