The lack of confidence in Bisgards (x2) is a little shocking. But good luck to y'all that want to take him down. These searches cost approx $100k.,.
Just go to the 2nd in the list or do an Acting from the current staff. There are deputy principals in Big 3 who’s love a promotion
Has anyone considered that one of the other candidates may have turned Maret down? No insider knowledge here- but Head candidates are also looking to see if the school feels like a school they want to lead and as with any other jobs, candidates don’t always accept when offers are made. There may not be a “second on the list.”
You might be right. The odds are stacked against any head who replaces Marjo, just because she has been there for so long and has been a leader who changed the school. This would be common knowledge in these circles; candidates would have known it and the retained search firm would have advised the search committee and the board about this as well. It is possible that there were good candidates who did not want the job because they did not want to follow Marjo. And it is also possible that the board picked Bisgaard as sort of a short-term sacrificial lamb.
