It’s been right there since 1789. And no one who can read English and has looked even slightly into the relevant drafting history has ever thought of a handgun “ban” as “easily constitutional.” (Not that there’s anything such as “easily” constitutional; something is either constitutional or it is not.) And the political parties are not the ones who adjudicate issues of constitutionality.[/quote]
