Dear posters, can you please give me some advice on what to look at during the model room tour? What sort of upgrades? I have never worked with a builder before? If the builder is offering granite, do we have to upgrade that...etc? Please give me some tips...We have an appointment soon. Thanks!
You should get a real estate agent if you don't already have one, who will be able to help guide you through this. Most everything in the model will be upgraded--take a look at the "included" features list to get a sense of the base package and then ask to see pictures/samples of the base options. You can look at the structural options online. For "design" features, you'll upgrade based on levels. For example, there will probably be 3-4 options for the "base" granite in the kitchen. At level two, you'll get more color options as well as perhaps a silestone or quartz option. The higher up you go, the more options/expensive materials you can select from. Same deal for floors and cabinets, etc.
