As a parent, the operations at BSC have been horrific. I saw no improvement with Lisa; maybe worse. Given she didn't have a technical role, I expected some improvement. I saw less communications - to the parents. I saw a lot of social media with her - often tone deaf. I also know that our coach, who has a business degree, had to help fix things a lot operationally, basic blocking and tackling type of stuff. All the parents on the team knew that and would have preferred those hours spent on our team - bc he is an extremely good coach. As a woman leader, I don't want someone to have a job bc of a resume and social media / conferences appearances. I'm truly sorry for anyone who has suffered during this crisis. But let's not paint a picture, that she was a hero. Also, we had one of the female coaches who left who while I wanted to be a good role model for my kid, really set my kid back developmentally and we had a large gap to cross.
Can you please share what you mean by this? When you say set back, do you mean mentally or technically? I’m not trolling, just trying to learn/recognize the signs so I can watch out with our current coach. (Not a BSC parent).
Technically. Played my kid in the same position 99% of the times in U-littles; Would say they would rotate and promise it all season long, but needed my kid in that position so the team stayed competitive. While my kid was getting a lot of playing time, needed to play in other positions to develop. It would have been better to have less playing time and more in different roles. Did not do 1v1. 2v1 drills - at all. Those two areas created a significant gap. There were other issues but those are basic developmental areas.
